When considering an alternative teacher ceritification program, choose a leader with a proven history of success. In a 2008 Wisconsin Policy Research Institute report "Teachers trained at MTEC rated their preparation to teach in MPS higher than did the teachers in all other programs". In addition, "Eighty percent of MTEC teachers felt well prepared to work in a large urban district like MPS". The WPRI report further states, "Nearly 78 percent of the MTEC teachers felt well-prepared to deal successfully with diversity in their classrooms, and nearly 73 percent felt they had sufficient management skills". MTEC's weekly mentoring helps ensure your success in learning the skills to become an excellent teacher.
